Jimmy is Now 21

Yesterday was indeed the celebration of Jimmy's 21st birthday here in B208 and my carefully plotted party went off without a hitch. The night was a celebration of all of our friends and included a crucial viewing of Jimmy's gift: Eurotrip. The actual movie was preceeded by us acting out and singing along to the "Scotty Doesn't Know" karaoke a few times. Much food, fun and beverage were indulged in by all present and I deem the evening an overall success. Today however has been a sobering return to reality. Exams kick up with the coming of the new week and the final efforts to drag oneself to one more day of class and turn in a myriad of projects, papers, and evaluations....be they on time or not.

Exams...Furman kids go crazy for this sort of thing. They feel bad and hide during the regular school year with their study habits that find them lurking in the basements of dorms and 24-hour study room. Exam week, on the other hand, they feel free to let these back alley activities come to the forefront. Amount of time and lengths taken to "study" are worn as badges of honor and discussed loudly in the library and immediately before exams. Many claims will also be made about how unprepared they are due to the fact that they have a far busier schedule than yours. Exams....just another test, another box to check, chill out, prepare as best you know how, do the best you can, keep quiet about it, and move on.

Everyone....go ahead and tell me what I can get you for Christmas.
